This small park is hidden away behind houses, shops and other buildings, but has been opened up more
in recent years and is being cared for and improved by a community group.
There's more about the park
here...
and here are some
photos I took in the snow
in 2010

New trees had been planted by volunteers just the day before

I was part of a group that sang "What's Love Got To Do With It"
in the street at the start of this Stirchley celebration.
There's a video of our final rehearsal on
Youtube

Our wonderful organiser Clare relaxes with a drink after the performance
The illuminated red feather decorations really stood out in the dark
A project to restore this historic building and put it to community use took a big step forward
when members of the public were invited to "put their hands up" in support of a funding application.
There's more about the project at
stirchleybaths.org
The building closed in 1988 and is long overdue for restoration
People used the paper hands to say what they hoped for from the project
The project has got people talking
Another event to demonstrate public support for the
Stirchley Baths restoration project was held in June.
"Sink or Swim" was devised and organised by Emma and Jayne of
Place Prospectors
who have already done a huge amount for Stirchley
At the SINK pool Jayne welcomed new arrivals and gave them a balloon weighed down by a model hand
Emma loaded the balloons into holders on a display board to make the word SWIM
The Official Hand of the Sink or Swim event: everyone took home a replica
More balloons were made into animals, hats etc
The Stirchley Shakers cheerleading group get ready to perform:
behind them the balloons spell the word SWIM
The balloons were popped at the end
Come on in, the water's lovely: it was a wonderfully hot day
Miriam has moved to another choir because she can't make the practice nights
but SO Vocal performed brilliantly without her at the Stirchley Christmas lights
switch-on event in December
The choir gathered on the steps outside the Constituency Office in Pershore Road

It can't be easy playing and singing when it's so cold
