We spent our last week in Bolivia in the sprawling city of Santa Cruz
At the launch of a new church at Satélite Norte:
the children worked together to paint T-shirts
The more organised team members had brought photos from home to show to Bolivian children...
the rest of us had to improvise
Our team was welcomed by the women's groups of churches in La Paz and Santa Cruz:
they do a lot of fundraising to support the churches' provision of food to children
Plaza 24 de Septiembre: the heart of the huge city of Santa Cruz is remarkably peaceful
Yes, this really is Bolivia: the shopping centre is called the New York Mall
A street vendor tries to make a living outside the shopping centre
The Rio Pirai that flows around the outskirts of Santa Cruz
is reduced to a stream in the dry winter
Road under contruction... and it's very dusty.
The road is being buit as part of a major expansion of the city
The team's last night in Bolivia: Bishop Raphael tries to pretend that
the unruly mob in the back of the truck is nothing to do with him
